US truck values and pre-purchase checks

Hi All,

Anyone know of a free source to get used truck values? I found a 2007 FG140 I'm interested in but not sure if the price is reasonable. A comparable FE model with similar mileage is half the price, maybe that is the standard ??

Also, any thoughts on thing to look out for besides rust on an inspection?

Hello! I paid for a “truck value” service online. The value was completely incorrect. Half what it should have been. (Good to know if you ever need to make an insurance claim). Having a printed sheet in hand helped me talk the price of my truck down by 30 percent! Well worth the $20 investment.

The people here can give you a very good idea of the value of your truck but we will need more details. Of primary importance: is it rusty(most are) just knowing which part of the country it is in will help w this. What year. What is the mileage. How is it outfitted-this generally doesn’t matter to us but does to the seller as dump beds and plows are expensive.

FE's are typically much cheaper than FG's. Half the price is not completely out of line based on my browsing. If a manual transmission check the syncros, they're a weak point in the manual trannies.
