Van Questions

I've been building my 08 E350 Quigley for the last several months, using many of the ideas put forward here on Expo. I live in Denver and make it up to Boulder fairly often for climbing (ie going to Southern Sun) and would be happy to give you a tour of my van. It's about 90% complete and may give you an idea of what you're getting into! Hit me up if you're interested.

Awesome! That sounds great. Would love to see what is involved and see someone else's rig. If you want, let's meet up and hit Eldo to talk vans and climbing!

Hmmm...

Ok, so this isn't what I was thinking (especially not this old) but this is someone who I trust has taken good care of their vehicle because I have followed her since she built it years ago...

Thoughts and questions you might have? My one worry would be the transmission, who converted it to 4x4, and any rust. Other questions you might have? Good deal or am I just going to have tons of trouble with this? I don't mind working on a gas engine, it's more body work, suspension, etc that I'm unfamiliar with, but willing to learn!

There's a few reasons why I personally wouldn't buy this van, but the two that I'll mention are 1) it's a 1982 which means its carbureted and since I live in CA, it's just a hassle with smog. 2) since its pre 1996, it doesn't have an OBDII port to tell you codes for the check engine light which makes it easy to diagnose problems.
