Van shipping...best option???

Hey guys!

I just purchased a 2002 Ford E-350 EB :wings:. The van is in San Diego, CA and I need to get it to Boise, ID but looking at my schedule over the next month or so, I don't have the time to fly down and drive it back. Does anyone know of any auto transport companies they have used and trust that you would recommend? Are there other options that you know of? Any idea on what it would cost to have it shipped?

I would appreciate any insight as I have never had a rig shipped before.

Thanks!
Dan

This isn't an endorsement of someone I trust personally but in the past I've had good luck on U-Ship. It's sort of the eBay for shipping...and just like eBay there's good and bad there. I've always been able to find haulers with credentials, insurance, and good ratings willing to give competitive pricing.

Anyway, just a thought and good luck...

There is always the option of finding someone local drive it for you...
Or have someone local hold onto it for a while. I have street parking if you wanted, I would have to negotiate driveway space with the Boss...

OH... Congrats and details on the van!

Figured it out

Thanks so much for the information you guys. I appreciate your willingness to help a brother out! Turns out I found a couple days open right after Christmas for my wife and I to fly down and drive it back. Looking forward to a mini vacation with my wife without the kiddo :)

By the way, the van is a 2002 Ford E-350 EB conversion van with the V8. I really had my sights on a V10, but I think the V8 will be sufficient. The plan is to immediately (read:as soon as I have the money) do a UJOINT 4x4 4" kit and then save up to do a pop top (leaning toward Colorado Camper Van) and a full interior build done by me and friends. This will be a slow process as funds are limited, but will be fun. I will try to put together a build thread as I go.

Thanks again for your help and your interest!

Glad you figured it out and best wishes for an uneventful trip.

Please do a build log once you get started. :)
