VW Overland Bug

Well we have done lots of traveling in our Quigly 4x4Dodge van and its upfor sale. Now it`s time to down size and so we picked up a 72 VW Bug and are commensing to build a "Wide Eye" Baja Bug set up to take on the far reaches of the planet. We wouldlove to hear everyone`s suggestions and if anyone eles is doing the same thing we would like to compare notes.

Well..... The plan of attack is to deal with the body work and paint and interior. Lots of thought for the interior as it will house a water tank, extra battery, 12 volt hot water heater, ARB 37 fridge in a custom storage box. Suspension & Brakes, High torque engine and bullet proof transaxle. We`ve opted to go with a Class 11 style bug to keep thing simple and secure. I think an open engine bay is too tempting for honest people. we will be shooting for something along the lines of the cool bug enclosed. It should be fun. Full retirement in a year so lots to do in a short time, lol.
