Looking at both. Anyone had any experience with either? I like to display of the WS4. Seems like you can read more on the screen with out cycling through the modes. And it was a weather forecast mode. It will be a general outdoors, hike, backpack mtn bike watch and maybe some SAR stuff later this year.

I got a ws4 for christmas and it's great for the money. If you can spend the extra cash on the pathfinder that is solar powered then that is the way I would go.

I have two pathfinders, one for diving and one for everything else. I have used them both all over the world and they are indestructible. I was issued my first one in the military and my wife found the diving version at a Costco outlet for 8 dollars. I generally take it off while I am sleeping so it can get the best temp and barometer readings and it helps me keep track of the weather and by watching the barometer tracking at the top I can get a small indication of what the weather may be up to. I have no experience what so ever with the WS4.

Have you considered the High Gear Axio Max? I am on the hunt for a similar multifunction/sensor watch and found one of these at REI. I was impressed.
