Wedgetail campers

Hi , does anybody knows how the wedgetail camper system works to open the tent.
Looks like a morse cable, or normal cable system letting out to open the lid , but how does it work.I can see the gas strut does everything but cant seem to find how it works.
I love this camper, such a lot of innovative ideas, especially the space and that you are able to access everything from the exterior and interior.\

Unfortunately to import this from Oz to Africa will cost a fortune.

But whats the trick in the design?

Watch the video on their website.

That is indeed a great layout, very efficient. Can't believe I haven't seen them before considering I'm local to them. Good find.

I really enjoyed the demo video--amazing product! I don't know how the lift cable is routed but it appears that it only lifts the top just past the vertical point and then the strut slows its descent to horizontal.

Yes , indeed an amazing product. David , has spend time thinking about the design and I think he has got a winner.

On the video , you can see the route of the cable, but what type of cable system is it?
You can also hear on the video that he stops cranking when the lid moves past the vertical point. What I can make out is that the the bed area are connected to the vertical point, the cable that's connected to the winch are only from the vertical point back to the hand winch.
Why doesn't the tent collapse, when it's under load from the cable?

What's also missing in the video is how to pack it up?

I still can't get to understand the working system of this design.

I think it's a wonderful design. Very obvious he spent a great deal of time planning and executing it.

That rig is totally sweet! I would definitely be interested in something like that in the US... but we'll never get anything that cool. :(

Wow, excellent well thought out design. These flatbeds are looking better and better.

I didn't see a price on the web site, anyone else?
