Hey Expo,
I am outfitting my Leer 100R shell with a sleeping platform and figuring out my above/ elevated storage.
Everything fits into my platform system except my 10 Gal water jug and cooler. My corners of the sleeping platform fold up towards the middle of the truck, and do not clear the bulky, stock utilitrack mounts. I am wondering however, if using the Leer Mounts to also hold onto my water jug and cooler so they do not slide around is safe, or if that would be a poor idea and possibly compromise the safety of those Leer mounts?
Over the wheel wells does not fold up, so I could mount in the back but I would like to have access easy in the rear for water and coolers. As the rear area would hopefully be holding my pillows, sleeping bags, mattress (which do not fit underneath the platform, but I worry less about them moving around as they are soft). I am looking for a very modular setup that makes camping organized and comfortable.
Hopefully my photo below can help show the mounts and the storage. Pardon the shadows, the sleeping platform is fairly even and the wood is not warped even though it looks like it.
Thank you
