What do you use for measuring cups?

While I know this probably belongs in the cooking section this area gets way more views.

What I am looking for is a metal measuring cup that is graduated with liquid measurements that is also safe to cook in at the same time. I have found aluminum dry measuring cups but no where is it mentioned at that they are safe to cook IN. The reason this is a concern is that when metals are heated up they push contaminants out then seal them in when they are cooled. I have no way of knowing if these items have been processed in a way to insure that when they are heated oils and other contaminants are not pushed out of them into my foods/water.

I am trying to avoid keeping 2 separate cups in my bag one to measure and one to cook in. The biggest reason I want a measuring cup over something like the GSI cup or other stainless cookware like MSR pots and pans is that I repack a lot of freeze dried foods into meal sized bags before trips and those need specific measured amounts of water to rehydrate correctly and have the intended texture. If you eat any of the MSR foods you will understand. Currently I do the conversion on my nalgene bottles but a stainless cup that already is graduated and is cooking safe would be much preferred.

I would make a trip to the local restaurant supply. Their products are for commercial usage and are often made of stainless rather than aluminum or plastic. You can cook in the stainless ones of course. I've completely given up on places like Sur La Table and head straight for the restaurant supply. Almost all of my camp cooking utensils and implements came from one or another supply house.

Look into the backpacking pots at places like REI, the current one I'm using is an Esbit that has a little fuel tablet stove that is a god backup or works well when I'm just doing a quick trip or going backpacking away from the jeep, you could discard that if you like. I keep it all together in its bag with a folding REI spork and I'm always good to go for my Mountain House meals. The only problem with such pots is the measurement lines all seem to be in Oz where the required water is usually stated in cups so you either need to remember, have a calculator or write the common ones down somewhere also I've had several meals lately that need 3/4 cup, which is 6oz so you have to guesstimate as the cups only start at 8oz. This is the one I'm rambling about: http://www.rei.com/product/852113/esbit-solid-fuel-stove-and-cookset

Also with any that you do get make sure the measurements are on the inside as many of them just have it on the outside and that is just stupid for a metal cup/pot.
