What is it?

OK, I got a light from my dads neighbor. I know it's from an older style camper, but I have no idea which one.

Thought I'd hit the camping guru's up for an answer!:coffeedrink:

It plugs into the outside wall of the camper, and the ring screws on to secure it.

It's upside down here, I just plugged it in, to see if it still worked.

Thanks!

It's the welcome home porch light! No self respecting 60's camper should be without one!:victory:

60's era, that fits. I've known Ray my entire life (or should I say, he's known me:)) And I never recall him having a camper, other than a pick up style one in the early 70's.

Any idea what brand of camper? Or maybe it was an accessory on different brands?

Hoping to find a home for it, figured someone may need it to complete thier vintage camper.

But it's hard to post it for sale, if I don't know what it is:coffeedrink:

i remember seeing welcome lights like that in the camper supply stores (remember when we didnt have to mail order everything) back in the 70's...

whoever will pay $$$ for it will know what it's all about. you just need to read the prospective buyer because the sharpies are going to be reluctant to let on how much they want it

I got it for nothing, as Ray was cleaning out his shed, and was going to toss it.

Not looking to make a killing on it, hoping to find someone who needs it to complete thier 'resto camper':coffeedrink:

Maybe I'll try that 'google image search' app on my phone, where you take a pic, and Google tries to identify it.

I'm getting my XJ ready to head to CO for a few weeks on Sept 3rd, so googling lights has been low on my priority list:snorkel:

Your GFI outlet is installed up side down.

That used to be the 'correct' way to install them in industrial/hospital type settings. (I believe they dropped it from the code now)

I end up installing them/swapping them to fit the intended use.

In this case, my dad plugs in a few chargers that have polarity plugs.

The weight of them tends to pull them out of the socket if they're 'upside down'

I have a few cords that have '90 degree' plugs on the end, some have the ground lug 'up' and some 'down':snorkel:

No uniformity it seems:coffeedrink:

I did try and turn my camera over (Droid phone) but it just kept the pic 'rightside up'!:Wow1:
