What tire pressures are you running on your van?

We got talking about our van's tire pressures on and off-pavement on another thread, decided to bring it here for full discussion. It seems I've been running my tires lower on pavement than others.
Curious as to;
--Your vehicle make/model/year/2WD or 4WD. Vehicle weight unloaded/loaded if you know it.
--Your tire brand/model/size
--What pressures you're running on-pavement and off-pavement(specifically for what terrain; graded gravel/forest roads; rating 1-3, rocky terrain; rating 4-6+, mud, snow, sand. Ratings taken from here; http://www.jeeptrailinfo.com/trailratings.html )
--How's the tire wearing?
_______________________________________________________________________________________
I'll go first;
--2007 Ford E350 RB SuperDuty 6.0LTD w/ UJOR 6" 4x4. Loaded wet with 4 people and gear at 9650lbs(4800lbs F, 4850lbs R)--will have to weigh again unloaded and wet.
--Toyo M/T 35x12.50-17 E-rated
--Been running 35-36psi(COLD) on street and empty, 38psi cold and loaded. Same for gravel forest roads rating 1-2, down to ~25psi on rocky terrain like the White Rim Trail, and others rating 3-4+. Haven't been in mud/snow/sand with this rig yet.
I just spoke to my Toyo tire guy. Tire specs at 3640lbs load per tire, 10ply tire. Suggested pressure is 40-50psi cold, max is 65psi. He thinks I was ok for 2wks fully loaded at 38psi cold and loaded. He'd suggest bumping up a bit depending on weight in the rig. I'll go up to at least 40-44psi cold when empty, probably 50-55psi cold if fully loaded.
--Tire wear even across the tire(why I didn't see any issues running 36-38psi cold).

--2010 Ford E350 RB Cargo V10 w/ UJOR 6" 4x4
--35" BFG KO2's
--60psi but "I ran around with 55psi for a few days in town and it took the edge off the ride with little potholes and what not." "Yankee Doodle Lake on a 2/5 road - very easy but constantly bumpy. I dropped it to 35psi but really should have gone even lower - no extremely sharp rocks. I'll try 25psi next time out."
--Tire wear?

--"Running 44 psi street is still harsh but my van is also totally empty. Went to 35psi offroad in death valley but the washboard was killer. Going to try 25 or 30 psi on the next outing."

Others? Hopefully this thread can be a good resource. (Here's another thread with a few other perspectives; http://www.expeditionportal.com/for...essure-Question/page2?highlight=tire+pressure )

--2002 Ford E350 RB 7 Passenger V10 w/ 2" front leveling kit (weight unknown)
--265/75R16 Nexen Roadian MT Tires (E-rated) on stock steel wheels
--55psi cold around town, highway and towing
--25 psi offroad
--Tire wear is predictable with i-beams due to alignment characteristics.
--Fuel economy negligible from 50-80 psi, ride is unbearable above 60psi cold unloaded

good call on starting the thread mk!

--2003 Ford E350 RB 7.3PSD w/ UJOR 6" 4x4. Completely stripped clean and empty interior. Very light camping supplies now, cooler, sleeping bags and clothes. No idea on vehicle weight, but the rear bounces around alot.
--Cooper S/t Maxx LT315/70R17 load range D on method nv aluminum wheels in black
--On Street: Im currently running 45PSI front and 43PSI rear (COLD). Los Angeles roads are rated at about a 2-3 on the jeep trail info guide. Lots of gulches, potholes and trash speedbumps. I was originally running 48psi all around out of the 50 max but it was super harsh because i dont have enough weight.. Im going to probably air down more to end up around 42PSI front/40 rear for street.
Off road: 35 PSI. I haven't done a ton of offroad yet because my build isn't complete and I dont have alot of recovery tools. I did about an 6 hour trip through death valley recently. Did fire roads and mild sand with no problems, but didn't get wild because I was alone. Washboard fire roads rattled the van alot. 1-3 rating obstacles were no problem. I would try 30 PSI or maybe 25 next time to try and improve my ride quality.
--Tire wear seems to be good for now. Only have about 6k miles so far.

Thought about dropping down to 20 or so for the dunes? I think it'd make a HUGE difference (from experience running 10-12psi in Oregon Dunes with my 7500lb G-Wagen on Hutchinson beadlocks. The difference between 12psi and 20+psi was monstrous).

No anything below 25 it feels like it will roll a bead. Remember I start at 70.

--GDYR Wrangler Duratrac LT315/75R16 E rated. 65 max psi with a load rating of 3860lb. Rims are 16" ATX Mojaves.
--50 psi rear and 45 psi F street and offroad. I'm too lazy to air down even though I have on-board air. In deep sand, however, I have gone to 35 psi. Performance is great on snow and ice.
--Tire wear has been excellent. Now at 28,000 miles. Will likely replace at 35,000.

This is an interesting thread on airing down E rated tires. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/135520-Tires-E-or-D

Holy cow! Most of you are running some low PSI in your tires, I'm shocked.
Rwd, 7.3, stock, light load, E load tires.
Front 72 PSI
Rear 68 PSI on all of my Vans.
And last set of tires lasted me 64k miles with near perfect wear across and comfortable ride. Rotated the tires every 5k not a mile over. (Still had a few more miles left)

Come take a ride with us Rob, you'll have teeth again. ;)
Do tell us(gooseberry, you too), why are you running such high pressures(70-72psi) compared to the rest of us? Trying to hypermile your van?

my tires are rated 80 and I'm getting even wear at 70 so its the right pressure. My ride is great and can feel squishy below 60? I think it depends on the tire and what it was deigned to run at. Some E rated max at 60 some 80 .

All the tires I use on my E350s is have been E load 80 psi .
As for ride comfort anything less than 60 it feels like a flat tire to me, while I know the tire can probably take that it doesn't feel right, steering response is slow, breaking feels compromised and with rain ive hydroplaned more to me with lower pressure. And I noticed with anything less than what I mentioned before I get uneven tire wear more toward the edges. As for a ride comfort I have all my teeth and a strong back. Lol
Let's not forget I'm getting over 21 miles per gallon consistently. So maybe is a little bit of hypermiling too?

i just got my gmc savana 2500 900 miles ago. checking tire pressure on delivery day it was 50 front & 80 back. door sticker confirms this range. tires are stock price point Bridgestone V-Steel rib 265 LT245/75R16 load rate E - 2 ply tread & sidewall. van rides like a buckboard.

i'd like to make it through the winter since i'm doing the inside $$$, but in the spring i'm wanting to do tires and sway bars F & R.

any suggestions welcome.
