What to do about seating in my 4Runner

Expo,

Well I'm getting close to fed up with the place where my ******** resides a great deal of the time. I have a few options to fix the situation and need some advice about which way to head. I have a 2002 4Runner with 313,000 miles, I swapped the lowers (lower portion of the seat that are identical) about 150k ago to maximize wear potential. I'm considering having the seats re-covered with leather, vinyl, or a complete replacement altogether. The factory leather has worn well and lasted 8 years, I'm not sure how vinyl will hold up but it works great in the work trucks sooo.... A complete replacement of the seats with Masterc Craft Baja RS has always been in my mind and can be mounted with minimal trouble using the Tacoma brackets (not a perfect fit but manageable).

Leather recover $400 per seat
Vinyl recover $300 per seat
Mastercraft seat replacement $700 +/- per seat (with lumbar and possible heated option).

Thoughts?

That's a bunch of seat time! Interesting idea to swap the bottom portion. How are the internal components of the seats? Are the springs sprung or do they still have life left in them? If you like the leather I say stick* with it.

My concern with the vinyl is that as it ages it stiffens and the cracks are quite uncomfortable.

Have you spent time in these seats? Do you fit well in them? Seat isn't too long or short for your legs, etc. Lumbar option sounds nice. Heated seats? Not so much for me.

I have spent no time in the MC Baja RS seat but have a to e of people who like them on and OffRoad. No one offers a demo seat, I've checked.

The springs and foam and are going but not gone in the factory seats.

The vinyl is marine grade and not likely to crack for some time.

I need to swap the lowers in my Accord, too....
I would go to the local bone yard and look for some BMW seats, or maybe some out of a Lexus. Hack together some brackets, and you're in business.

Haven't sat in a MC seat, but I will tell you after owning two 3rd Gen's (and Tacomas) that 100-series LC seats are 100x better in all aspects. If you can find a way to fit those in, that's what I would do.

I found a set out of a Honda something for $300/pair for my Toyota Pickup, before I had my Tacoma...they darn near bolted straight in too, just had to make a couple of spacers.

Heck, the blue of the seats match the blue interior of that truck too.
