What truck for the camper?

I now have the specs for our built overland camper, prior owned by Don Greene. It's 7500 lbs fully loaded, including spare tires and under frame Knaack storage box; 14' length, 8' width, 8' height. Currently mounted on Fuso FG, 22' length. I'd like an '06 or older truck, with an 11,000 payload capability, so we're under GVW 30%, about the same overall length and under the CDL weight requirement. One unknown choice would be for a 4WD vs 2WD. Perhaps a 2WD with LSD is possible- don't know.
I'd rather have the flatbed spring/bolt mount, ala ATW aussie type. Would need a real company to complete the mount....in the US or Canada.
So, now open for suggestions, if any. Gary

That flatbed can be shorted to fit your box, and it already has a 3 point mounting system.

It also comes with the rims to run super singles.
A cabover like your current Fuso.
Bill Caid has put a zillion happy miles on his 1017 (give or take :sombrero: )

A 650 would handle the weight- variety of engines.
We'd like to have dash A/C- don't think the 1017s have it?
Also mention that the weight of a mount should be added, maybe 1000 lbs? (Caid's 1017 already has a pivot mount.)

With sll the new(ish) anti-idle laws there are now plenty of aftermarket 24v aircon units available now, very easy to install on the roof and with the added advantage of being able to run it with the engine off. Some models are powerful enough to do the job iduring the day while driving too.
