Hi Guys,

Saw this 80 diesel last week at the Malaysia-Thailand border. This guy had his compressor mounted in the hood and placed a air tank in the back. Anyone did this set up or any recomendation on the compressors?

I'm not sure what's available your side but over here the guys try find compressors from old model Merc's that apparently have two pistons.

Welcome to the forum :friday:

I'm not familiar with the compressor pictured but a popular option is a belt driven york a/c compressor, model 210L or 210R. Spressomon posted a link where you can get the mount/pulley/belt but it's to mount the compressor to the 4.5L I-6 gasser. The L/R denotes which side the suction is. If you have the space and some fabrication capabilities I'm sure one could be adapted to a diesel.

Here's a link to a York a/c manual courtesy of onboardair.com Good info like specifications, and servicing. It's like an FSM.

They can be sourced from early 80's volvo's and mercede's from the 60's and 70's

Ooops! I missed the diesel part :( ...sorry about that! Good link/site to the Kilby site! The York is too large to fit into the LC 100 engine bay...I'm going to, one of these days, try to fit the Sanden compressor...which is somewhat smaller in size http://www.extremeoutback.com/index.cgi?cart_id=8716430.6000&pid=34
