Wheel Spacers and Driveability

I have a 97 4runner with Sonora Steel 1.2 alternate lift and 285/75 BFG ATs. Both sides rub the upper control arms just before full steering lock. And only has about a half inch clearance when straight. The truck sees very little off road, mainy city/hwy/fire and unmaintaned roads. I dont like the rubbing and am concerned about getting in just the right position & cutting a tire. The truck drives awesome. Im looking at possibly adding spidertrax 1.5 inch spacers that are hub centric. My concern is has anyone picked up any steering wobble at speed with the spacers? Did you notice much differnce in handling and driveabilty as well?

Just make sure you look after them and keep them torqued. You should be fine. Spacers bring the tire out form under the vehicle. There will be a difference in driving it. The wheels being moved out will add some stability to the vehicle, just think of a sprint car. Allpro makes them vehicle specific as well.

I put them on my 2009 Taco and they are great. I needed them to make the tires run flush with the body. It does add more stability. It was very noticeable. Just torque them correctly and you're good!

I'm running my old spidertrax spacers on my 99 4runner with a 3" lift. Drives fine. I use red loctite, and check them once and a while. Never had an issue on my old rig, don't expect to on this one.

I will just echo everyone here, make sure you use loctite and torque them down to the proper specs. You shouldn't notice any wobble, if you do it probably means you had a spacer come loose. Ask me how I know...
