I don't believe in the previous post about trucks with more than 100k miles not worth more than $10k. Thats a crock of bs! For a Toyota, 100k miles is just broken in!
I bought my 2003 4Runner V8 with 95K miles on it. They were freeway miles and the previous owner had records and regularly maintained it up to 90K. Regular maintenance is much more important than outright miles. I got mine for a steal ($15k:victory: ) but I had to do the 90K mile service which includes the timing belt. I also changed the waterpump, thermostat and other parts while I was in there.
The truck is awesome and I am so glad I held out for the 4th gen over the 3rd gen. Not to say the 3rd gen is bad, in fact it excels over the 4th gen in terms of cargo load, ground clearance and a few other points, but I liked the increased passenger space, styling and road handling of the 4th gen. The majority of my time will be spent on pavement.
You can definitely find a 4th gen well under $20k, just be patient. Check the internet listing sites and Craigslist daily.
