Will this work?

Hi I have been looking around for a while this is my first post. I would like to build myself a expedition vehicle. I have found a doner truck. I would like some opinions on whether this would make a good platform.

It is a 2001 4WD FG6301A canter 4.2 diesel. The extra wheels could make for some interesting adventures. My aim would be to strip it back to a bare chassis and build a camper box on the back. Timeframe maybe 4 years to complete it.

Thanks in advance for your advise and or help.

Diesal, 4x4, good solid frame with a camper shell, i dont see why not. Take your time tuning the suspension right so it doesnt ride like a rail road dump truck

Interesting wheel setup.....looks like singles on the rear already? Possibly running in the identical track? ...but not reversible, so you have to carry a front and rear spare? Even if you have to carry two spares, seems like you're ahead of the game already...

Looks exactly the same as my truck.... Ex NSW Railways FG637.

Now turned into this.

Just watch out for cracks in the chassis where the front suspension mounts are and around where they bolted the train wheels on.

P.S. I've still got the wheels if you are looking for more spares.
