I'm not sure where to put this thread... here or in Completed Adventures....
The Wind River 4x4 Association put on their 5th Annual Show and Rally this weekend in Lander, Wyoming.
It's a three day event that includes trail runs, camp-outs, a show & shine competition, giveaways and an awards ceremony. People come from all over WY & CO to attend. Lots of unique vehicles built to varying degrees. From mild to wild they had an ample selection of manufacturers among the attendees. Lots of Jeeps, some Toyotas, Chevys and few other unique choices.
A small but important note is WR4x4's partnership with the US Forest Service in conjunction with these events. The USFS had a display booth at the show & shine to distribute information on their role in maintaining trails with the help of WR4x4. Tread Lightly information was also available. It was nice to see the two groups working together to educate local 4x4 enthusiasts.
I was only able to attend the Show & Shine portion of the event today. While some attendees headed home yesterday and gas prices kept some from coming at all, the show today had a nice turn out. It was held in Antelope Park in Lander, and there was just enough cloud cover to keep it from getting too hot out. So I took the opportunity to shoot some pics and thought I would share them here.
Hope you enjoy the time killer.....
