Well thats it, looking for a rooftop tent and figured I'd throw a post up on a few forums. i seen some good deals here and there but always seem to be 1 call or PM too late. If you have something that you realized you don't use as much as you thought, sucks down your MPGs, takin up garage space or whatever the reason may be, please PM me. Buying new is not an option at this point as i spent all the tax return on other mods:snorkel: and the second free government money check will be "stimulating" my trip to Ouray this July Thanks for lookin!!

yeah I know they are rarely poppin up for sale but just figured I'd give it a try, missed one on ttora last month for 300 bucks!!
I'd like to stay around 500 but ya never know.

FWIW I just picked up one of the early style Mombasa RTT's and I am lovin it
I'm sure the more expensive ones have some nice features, but for the dough you can't beat it...

wow doin a search on the mombassa, I found em for 400 bucks shipped NEW, not to impressed with the design though. I'd rather have a used ARB or the like.

1.if you find used rtts such as eezi awn ,arb,columbus hannibal,marus,technitop
you will only find then anywhere from 900 dolars and up. and they dont show up often.

2.you can buy a first generation mombasa with the composite "fiber" board option New in the box .. I have one for 500 plus shipping

3. you can buy a new generation www.car-top-tent.com "same as arb"
new in the box for 695 plus shipping I have one of those also

I'm 6'2 250 easy, and it holds me up fine. The ladder is superior to anything I've ever seen RTT-wise, I have to be careful on others.

I compared this to the cartoptent.com, and chose this simply because it's 40 pounds up top, versus 120 pounds on my 4Runner. For obvious reasons.

thanks, I like that one too just because it's more of a weekender and easy to pop on and off, but I also like the larger swing open style. more area for me the wife and kid. the oasis II looks a bit small for 3 and another on the way.
