WTB: Small car, or rather my Dad does

My Dad is looking for a small car for my sister, hers took a dump. Nothing fancy, just something to get her to work/school and back. It needs to be CHEAP though. Absolute max is 3000 and even thats going to be hard. He hasnt worked since December so we're all kind of pitching in to help but things are just flat out tight. THis couldnt have happened at a worse time.

Hes also looking around on Craigslist but I figured Id ask her and see if anyone has a small car theyd like to get rid of.

We live in Lancaster but pretty much anywhere within about 100 miles would be within reason.

Jeep XJ's are a dime a dozen in your price range. Not the best in gas, but they are out there.

I would look for a Toyota Camry 4 cylinder. They are super reliable and can be found on the cheep.

Thanks for the replies guys but any sports car or 4wd is out, for insurance reasons mainly. My sisters only 19.

The Camry is what hes leaning towards. Or at least something like it. Hes lookin around on craigslist right now. We could fix her car but we're thinking that by the time we're done itll be cheaper to get her another.
