FOR TRADE ONLY: 1943 Ford GPW (jeep)

Location: Covina California

The first jeep! produced by both Ford and Willy’s, at some point the Ford motor was replaced with a newer Willy’s engine, same L134 “Go Devil” 4 cylinder and the Ford marked head was kept for appearances. The drive train is nearly all original Ford parts, I’ve been working on this for about six years, I replaced all the body bolts with reproduction “F” script bolts, four reproduction two-piece military wheels and two originals, I do also have the front fenders not shown in photos. I have three spare axles and many other spare parts. all that’s left is to install the new reproduction wiring harness as soon as I get the time :( ..Engine has been ran and sounds great. I’m not interested in selling it. I would love to tow this behind my expedition rig but I just don’t have the space or funds for both.

Price range, 8k - 20k+

I’m most interested in a vintage coach conversion, some old flat nosed bus on a 4x4 drive train, a unimog or other repurposed military truck, something similar to the Toyota Coaster or PAZ-3206 attainable in the US.

engine photo..

since those photos were taken I've reinstalled the gauges and steering wheel (with a vintage wood suicide knob) after rebuilding the steering box. the only thing missing is the top bow components and a canvas top.
