Looking for any photos you guys have of platforms built into Cherokees. Basically looking for ideas, what worked for you, etc...

Thanks

Interested in this one. I remember when I first got mine I put the seat down and tried to lay in the back but didn't really fit.

The secret to sleeping in the back of the XJ...even for big guys.

1. Take the bottom part of the back seat out of the jeep completely.

2. Move the front seats all the way forward.

3. Find something to put down in the holes.

This will give you about 6'6" of space to sleep in.

I'm about 6' and haven't tried to lay down in it yet, but I know others have done it.
My plan is to take out the back seat (and keep it for later), then build a wooden platform anchored to the floor. I would make sure to leave access doors for tools and gear stored underneath. It would be ideal to keep the 31x10.5 spare under it, but if it's too thick I'll just bolt it to the top of the platform and stick it outside when it's time to sleep.

I guess I'm just excited to try and make a mini-camper.

I'll get photos as the project goes on, but it'll be a couple weeks yet.

Anybody have photos of their setup?

These bins are lockable.

These are extensions to put in an extra 11" section with the seats forward for more room to sleep.
