Yotto Combusto Diesel Heater?

Looks like a CDH in a fancy box. I wouldn't think the quality of the heater itself is any better than any other CDH. IMO most of these companies supposedly selling 'better' Chinese diesel heaters are just selling the same thing with better marketing.

I would think it would come down to whether the form factor and convenience is a better value than throwing it together yourself. Seems like about $400 of parts and pieces if you DIY'd it with a decent CDH.

I do like the pic of it mounted to the side of a truck camper. Looks like a great option for truck campers or the like where you dont' want a dedicated heater taking up room in your interior build.

"decent CDH" - i'm not sure if there's such thing as a decent Chinese Diesel Heater. I'd word it as "the least troublesome CDH". Entire world of troubleshooting help has sprung up to work with CDH.
Tell me about your personal experience which verifies this. I have had Planar, Vevor (CDH), Lavaner (supposedly better CDH), Espar and Webasto in various rigs. Vevor has been dead reliable, as much as or more so than the rest. Lavaner has been the least reliable and most finicky by a large margin. I am in no way an expert on these, just perhaps a copious user. I've never been inside of one because all of mine have always worked, more or less. The trouble I've had has been with controllers, not the heating units themselves.

Keep in mind that you only hear about the problems on the internet. Happy users never say anything. But that aside, this is most certainly a CDH with this kit and no matter what they say quality is suspect.

I have a Vevor and my experience mimics yours. Dead reliable.

Wow, you've gone through few diesel heaters! I have only had two Espars for two campers in the last 20 years, and they've been stellar. First Espar was bought used from eBay then I sold that camper 14 years later. The second Espar was bought brand new and now lives in the current camper.

I don't have time for Chinese crap but I've helped someone close to me with her Vevor CDH. After a while, she wished she too had purchased a Webasto/Espar/Planar heater and not deal with the BS that she went through. All CDH has crappy QC and it's a hit/miss when something actually works well on a consistent basis. When a heater works really well, it's like a bright light shining through the heavens for those people, because they expected crap, but they got good quality instead.

We buy whatever fits the bill, plain and simple. I simply prioritize saving money else where.

No, I haven't gotten through that many heaters, I've just owned a few. I work in commercial trucking and most of them have Espar/Webasto, which people also have problems with btw, plenty of problems, I just haven't had any personally.

Last van build I put a Planar in. Not a horrible experience but not trouble free due to the controller. Current van build I have a Lavaner in, which I bought on someone's advice. Controllers are junk. Thermostats are junk. An afterburner controller would probably solve this but I haven't done it yet.

I currently live in a class A diesel MH while I'm building a house. I put a Vevor in it because I like diesel is easier to get than propane close to where I live. The Vevor has been great.
