My thule bars are too far apart to fit my harbor freight shovel:

So I mounted the shovel left to right on my rear bar:

Both are mounted with Quick Fists from Cabellas

Recovery equipment in one box and other supplies in the other?

I made some sway bar disconnects today:

I dont have the right equipment to drill a cotter pin hole in the bolt so I railed down the wingnuts and put on some pinchnuts to see if the wingnut backs itself off in time.

Nice work. I have yet to do this mod. but I think it just got moved to the short list. Kinda sucks that you don't have a drill press, but you still got the job done. :wings:

On a side note, the rubbers look pretty tired. Time for some new ones.

Energy Suspension polyurethane sway bar bushings are quite inexpensive. Choose black. The graphite impregnated black bushings hold up better. You will enjoy the improvement in handling.
Nice truck.

I thought about replacing the bushings but im gonna see how my homemade discos work and then maybe grab some stockers. Ive got poly bushings on the front end of my 36 chevy with the firebird front clip. They rock.

A few weeks ago I took the z through a carwash and the shell leaked a bit of water. So I went to ace and got some "campermount" weatherstripping. It took a while to put on by myself but I think its gonna fix my leaks.

A local warehouse was throwing these old couch cushion pads away. They fit perfectly between my wheelwells and front to back. They are a foam core with down feathers top and bottom. Im gonna remove the down feathers to reduce some of the bulk. Maybe just the foam and some new water resistant covers.

Progress:

I found some underlayment material. It is 1/8" thick carpet padding that is water resistant and has a foam backing. Like the non skid stuff they put on the bottom of bath mats. I hope is has some insulation or sound deadening value.

I got some free brown commercial carpet. ( I wish it was grey.) Cut the carpet 1/2" bigger than the underlayment. I then glued the carpet to the underlayment with Super 77.

I also made a piece that covers the tailgate and slides under the main piece.

So next im going to work on some covers for my sleeping pads:
They are the perfect size to stand up against the front window of the shell and provide more floor space for gear. They are too thick right now. I would like to just get the foam out of them and save a few inches of bulge.

Now where will the dogs ride?
