Installing terrafirma big bore

Yea. I don't see why you would remove the cups as they keep the bushings centered on the axle. I see removing the cups would allow the bushings to move on the axle and thus cause them to wear prematurely, possibly cause the securing pin to bend under stress.

I have them on a 130 I recently bought and both of the rears have oil running down the sides- ie toast. Surprising since the truck has extremely stiff rear springs and the shocks can't have seen much travel.

My shocks came labeled with only the defender 90. I wonder if the 110/130 chassis is just too heavy for them? You would think something labeled "expedition" could handle the load.

My two cents. I was looking for something to replace my worn out OME HD shocks on the rear of my 130 crew cab and being a cheap guy I bought the Big Bores from TF. MY OME were old and shot and my ride really swayed from side to side on the highway. After installing the Big Bores the swaying was back to what it was with new OME's, that is to say, much better. I have had them on for almost two years now and have not noticed any reduction in ride quality. I do believe you get what you pay for and I wont be surprised if they start to get mushy in a year or two. I got a good deal on them and have been very happy so far. Happy so far.

A lot of stuff is made in China. Does not always mean it sucks. Money being equal I would have got bilsteins.

If you got them from me. Please let me know and I will have them replaced. They should not fail because it is on a 130.
