WOW! You got 30mpg on 37" tires. Now that is awesome.

How is cruising down the highway? Any issue with going 75mph?

Do all your gauges and everything work? Do you have A/C? Cruise Control?

It cruises comfortably at 70 MPH, I would have to get different gears to get much more speed. 4.10's in it currently. I have no idea what QSB stands for, but I will find out.

It is a brand new engine, not a swap out of a used engine.

30 mpg is hard to believe with 37" tires and the aero of a brick. Did you get that 30mpg at 70mph? I could see 30mpg at 55mph and even then I have my doubts. And I have first hand experience with 2 different but similar diesel equipped engines. Plus I work for a major diesel engine manufacturer.

My 2010 ML350 cruising at 70mph on flat ground will struggle to get 29mpg. It has a 7speed transmission. Anything above 70mpg and I lose 2mpgs

My 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD with 32" tires and a lift with a tune gets 22mpg cruising at 65mph, before the tune it got 18mpg...it has the aero of a brick and a 5 speed transmission. Anything above 65mph and fuel economy drops 1-2 mpg.

At 70 MPH I am getting 24. It looks like if I keep it at around 65 MPH, that is the sweet spot. That is where the first tank fuel mileage came from, 60-65 MPH.

Heck, I'm ecstatic about 24mpg on 37s at any speed. The possibilities with tall skinny 33's is quite appealing with the numbers you are getting.

I love the rack on this Brute. Any close-ups?

I think he is refering to this Brute that was at Overland Expo...I don't know what motor it had in it, but it sure did sound like a Cummins.....

All I can say is that it was amazing!

QSB refers to the modern CP3 style high pressure electronic fuel injection system (among a few other things )....very similar to any modern Cummins you would see in a 2003+ dodge truck.

If you want a great thread to read with info on the B3.3, go here.

http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/showthread.php?t=112807

*note* its a LONG thread and a lot of the information is a little beyond me technically. But the OP does a great job over the course to explain stuff. *end note*
I would love to see Dave delve into this as an alternative to the 4bt. You can still buy these 3.3Ts new which kinda takes a little of the worry about spending big bucks to make a swap happen only to find the used motor you got needs a rebuild as well. Hook up an NV4500 or NSG 6speed and rock on!

I would imagine he is referring to a computer system in the Jeep, which this Jeep does not have. It was calculated by yours truly. GPS miles/gallons.
