I think this would be great. With Ford 9in axles, it would be great.

25K will buy a lot of gasoline!

Agree completely. You're not spending 25k for the gas savings. There has to be other reasons involved. But if you're already taking about replacing the engine, an LS (turn key) is roughly 17-30k depending on the size/model, options, etc. Now if the diesel is 25-35k... there's not that much difference depending on what the end goal is.

Good point, Septu! Didn't really think about it in that context. That's still a lot of coin to this old country boy! And that's exactly why I bought the LifeMax warranty for my JK.

You guys do realize that this is the exact same engine found the in GC and 1500 Ram? By that I mean exact horsepower/torque numbers even after the Banks modifications... Which is odd. So not only are you paying an arm and a leg for a diesel engine, You are paying even more because it has Banks name on it.

Sounds like people are making a lot of conclusions without any real information - let's see what Banks does for a price.

Now if they would just sell their stand alone engine controller separately it would make doing a conversion from a wrecked GC or Ram a lot easier...

Yeah, but after the apocalypse you could not run the gas engine on the rendered fat from the zombies you have dispatched!

But if there is a Zombie Apocalypse, I can drive whatever I want. Probably a 5-Ton truck or a Harrier. lol

When have you ever seen an after market company sell a crate engine cheaper than the engine manufacturer?

Um I've already driven one of the diesel JKs that mopar is finishing up testing on and trust me it's no pipe dream they are coming.
