During our trip, I felt I was overloaded. The Jeep never complained, but I wanted some weight out of the rig during some of our maneuvers.
I may have found a future solution.

I have seen here what can be done with this style of trailer, but I don't see that happening this year, for this one.
Should be a good platform for a start though.

Great report and welcome to your new habit.

During our trip, I felt I was overloaded. The Jeep never complained, but I wanted some weight out of the rig during some of our maneuvers.

With this in mind I've found that everything needs to justify its existence on my vehicle in size, utility and weight (spouse and dogs are exempt). After years of moto-camping and kayaking we were already outfitted with small, light-weight gear and when we got into vehicle-based adventures I went a bit gonzo for bigger stuff; a Kodiak canvas tent, cots, two stoves, on and on. I built a good off-road vehicle that when fully loaded handled like an elephant. Now we're back to "fun" size and the payoff is worth it when it gets technical.
