My Jeep JKU dual battery tray install.

I'm stumped that there is not a single metal battery tray (with a bolt down strap) (genesis kit aside) available for the 2011+ JK's... Great work btw!!

yea well dual set up s not high on most peoples priority list. There has been a few others but they went out of business. I talked to a tech at Rugged Ridge about their tray and he said they have no intention of making one for the 2012+, the nice things about the M.O.R.E. tray is that with out the factory hold down it leaves your options open for that battery to run. I do not like the strap system they have but from what I have read it works fine.

I honestly wouldn't mind having the strap, but the buckle gets in the way of mounting the battery "combining" components. I would have to cut a hole in the middle of the metal plate (if I were to make the top plate like you did) just to allow the buckle to come through.

Yea that is why I did not use the buckle... If I try to shake one battery the whole Jeep moves so I think it is good.

I would agree with that. Looks really good. I will just go this route. I really think the strap and buckle was a horrible idea... I mean, how much more metal would it have really cost them to quickly design a top plate?

True it would not have taken much time or metal but by not limiting batter options with a top plate it leaves the consumer more options IMO. Either way it is not a bad design as it works for the average Joe or someone who wants a basic set up to modify with out spending serious $$$$$$

Holy crap! Nice job...and write up! Im no engineer, I opted for the "easy" (for me) install of a Genesis, but wish I had the skills that'd allow me to attempt something like that...

Thanks, it was actually pretty easy. Just took time and planing. I cut the bracket out with a Jig saw.. so it is not to great I am going to remake the hold down not that I have some better tools.

No problem. I plan on building a different hold down tray think I am going to move my 4 Relay box over to the battery tray.
