Looks worse than it is! Rear locker is the savior here.
I've done it since with my Aussie front locker and 4.63 gears, and no wheelspin going up. Pretty awesome testing out upgrades in stages.

Perhaps I should have given it a go... when I was there, someone in a jeep cherokee with what was probably open diffs was trying mightily to make it up but failed... I always enjoy when someone in a more mainstream 4x4 struggles, and I flip on the locker and just go.

Yep. Probably open diffs. The montero has amazed many in its stock form. The locker really makes things look easy. I want to do a cleghorn trip again in the next few weeks. We should set up a montero cleghorn run.
