Very nice! I wrecked my Montero and have been looking for a new one, preferably a Gen 2.5. This makes me think about getting a Gen 3 again.

They are hard to beat! Comfy nice ride and pretty capable with some upgrades. Also really didn't think I would be getting as good gas mileage as I do. Plus those curves......

Damn, that is great mileage. What is that you have there giving you that info?

Thanks. It's a ScanGuage E, tire height corrected and GPS verified of course :) . Really helps with driving economically, the real time mpg info is pretty cool and it's also reads and displays all your obd2 info. ....including real coolant temp hahaha

Know the name well. You guys are doing great work over there.

Small world huh! Thanks, its a great crew of guys over here that work together very well plus awesome customers that let us do crazy things lol. Sad to go but I already plan to fly back at least once to do a big project. Fab-cation

How on earth are you getting such great gas mileage?

Well...I'm actually kind of cheating. Speed limits are low here, 55, and since I haven't lived with air conditioning for 3 years I don't run mine often so I can stay acclimated. Low speeds, low power draw and a background with hypermiling other cars is working well for me. Also as an xls I have the four speed which is epa rated one mpg higher than the limited at 13/14/17

I think with less back pressure and a good tune 30 mpg is possible....

55 mph does wonders. I can get nearly 40 mpgs out of my passat wagon on a 60 mph back road trip. day to day average in real life is 27. Still impressive work to get such numbers out of a larger SUV

Well guys, life is funny with plans sometimes. Bunch of stuff has happened and I've been offered a great opportunity in Austin Texas. Good news! Gonna drop a bunch of cash and ship the Montero to the states with me!

Since everything is bigger in texas I thought a custom billet lift would help me blend in with the Cowboys. Bought some huge 6061 billet chunks and spent a non stop 15 hour day designing, fabbing and installing my 2 inch lift.

Looks great with good cv angle and good amount of droop still with stock spring rate. Feels a bit firmer but it's a good feeling. Got a set of 1.25 wheel spacers coming that should really get everything perfect!

Let's see what I can do in texas. .....in house cnc. .....

[devils advocate] Rocky Road has a complete 2" OME lift for 810 dollars + shipping, thats new torsion bars, shocks, and springs. (im not plugging RR, they were just the first ones on google with a working link, and ARB stuff doesnt usually have much price difference seller to seller)
