Jakes 2014 SR5 build

I finally joined the 5th Gen crowd! I have wanted one to build since they came out. I have built a few other vehicles in the past including a 4th Gen http://www.toyota-4runner.org/sale-vehicles/134415-fs-2003-limited-v8.html
and a 1994 Land Cruiser which I still own. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/118208-Jakes1994-FZJ80-(BIG-ORANGE) Both were great vehicles and cemented my love for Toyotas.

The family has gotten more and more into wheeling and camping, but the wife wants a more "refined" rig that is comfortable on longer trips. So, enter the 5th Gen! I purchased this 2014 SR5 last week.

The plan is to build a low-key expo rig that retains most of the stock look. the plans right now are...

Toytech BOSS lift with HD rear coils
RCI skids
SouthernSS front hybrid bumper
CBI rear bumper (w/out Swingout)
shrockwork sliders
roof rack (GOBI)
sliding drawer system
3M radio
Black 17" wheels (complete)
33" tires (still debating AT or MT)
snorkel
etc...

it will be a slower build than usual because I am also building an M101A1 expo trailer to pull behind it

Mounted some wheels I had. 17x9 with a -6 offset definitely improved the stance, but shows off the terrible tires.

Nice platform to start with for sure.

Is it weird that I'm slightly more curious to see the rest of your house? :sombrero:

I have to agree with Adventurous; you have a great looking property. Does all of TN look like this?

Middle TN is a very beautiful area. Especially when you get just a little ways outside of the metro areas. Only problem is most of it is all private property. Not a whole lot of public lands with trails. Or at least not that I have found yet.

@Warlord6 does have a little slice of heaven there!

Hey man, glad you found me over here! True, not much public land around here. I lived out west for a while and fell in love with the wide open spaces and huge tracts of public land to ride and hunt. I love this area, but you gotta either own your own acreage, or get permission from other landowners which can be very difficult.

I'm just south of Nashville. Brentwood to be specific. You around here?

Nice 4Runner. It's also nice to see more people around middle TN. I own a lifted Xterra but tend to hang around a lot of Toyota owners. Have you been to Coal Creek? I'm assuming with a Land Cruiser like that, you probably have.

Yeah man I've done a lot of wheeling at Windrock! there's a ton of trees and rocks out there with metallic silver and orange on them! I love that place and go out that way every chance I get. What area you live in?
