Just watched some of your videos, awesome!

Surprised and stocked to see an OX Locker under there. Amazing bulletproof product and surprised there arent more of them

It's been fun checking your build too. Thanks for checking out our videos.

I never thought I'd buy an OX locker. Cable actuated is a nice concept but poor execution. I've run ARB, Elockers, Lunchbox, LSD, Spool... This newer design to run the OX on AIR is brilliant. Of course, you need DANA style axles. But really great design and functionality is excellent so far. Love the ability to manually lock/unlock too. ARB is awesome when they are dialed - crazy fast engage/disengage even in motion or under load. But OX beats it for simplicity....

This looks like a really well thought out and nicely executed build. It’s a great example of where I’d like to end up with my second gen....if I keep it. I think your price is fair too. Thanks for the comprehensive video. That’s well done also. Question....Did you think about a diesel swap, and if you did, why didn’t you go with a diesel?

Thanks! Enough money and time anything is possible. :)

I have looked into diesel. There are just too many downsides and not enough upside.

Pros:
Better mpg (but not a ton - I'd likely see 2-4 mpg improvement)
More Torque (but difference is minimal with tuned S/C)
Improved Range (thanks to better mpg)

Cons:
Conversion Cost (can be big money even DIY)
Heavy (weight is always a consideration)
Noise (on technical trails; quiet is nicer especially in stressful situations)
Diesel Fuel Availability (less availability - and states like Cali trying to eliminate it)
Reliability (can often be an issue especially compared to stock)

I watched some of your other videos, really enjoyed them. Useful for me too as my wife and I are looking into a different camper. I appreciate your putting this Taco up on the portal for members but I think if you put it up on Tacomaworld you’d probably sell it quickly. Lots of interest in the first gens and SAS is pretty common there too.

Ha, never mind. Went to insert the link and I see it’s posted. ? really nice truck. GLWTS!

Glad you enjoyed the videos. There's a ton to consider with camper choices. Really comes down to the comforts you want and how you plan to use it. I've done many styles of travel (interior sleeping platform, soft roof tent, hard roof tent, four wheel camper, Sprinter RV and truck camper); everything is a trade off.

Will see if we sell Taco or not... realistically building a replacement would be $50-60k minimum. And Taco really won't lose much value even after another 100k miles (since it's so low currently).

Excited for the Rubicon next week. Planning to do Fordyce and possibly Dusy Ershim. Will be fun to escape for a bit!

We took the Tacoma on another EPIC trip! Over 2,000 miles traveled and 2 weeks of camping... Completed the Rubicon Trail, Fordyce Trail, Barrett Lake Trail with lots of exploring between. Best thing about this truck is being able to drive 12hrs to the destination and drive home. No trailer needed.

Taco has been fully detailed again and all rock scratches sanded and painted. Looking as good as the earlier photos.

UPDATE: We installed 160W Solar panel on the canopy with Victron MPPT Charge Controller (monitor Bluetooth via phone). This was a game changer! It allowed us to park and not run the truck for a day without running down the battery (fridge running). The solar panel produces just shy of 9 amps of power in direct sun. It would mostly recoup the battery after about 2 hrs of sunlight in the morning. We carried enough supplies to be "off grid" for 5-7 days.
