*Update*

Just ordered Trail-gear.com rock sliders
$99 + $74 shipping = $173 (not bad at all)
Will need to find a good welder to complete the job in the mean time.

Also, adventuretrailers emailed me that I am on their waiting list and they estimate the gas/water can holders will be available in one month. I am signed up for two.

I am building up my Frontier as well, and I heard the same thing about the Kennesaw bumpers. I have no first hand experience either, but I have read too many bad things about their customer service on a few different forums, that it steered me away from them. I am going the custom route....but I have many connections with good fabricators in my area.

I like the blacked out grill. What paint did you use?

I sanded all of the 'chrome' areas, two coats of rattle can primer, then two coats of rattle can flat black. Not sure of the brand but got it at True Value.

As far as the bumper goes, my friends and I are the exact opposite of Fabricators!! Therefore, I have to work with what's being produced out there and the KMA is one of few available and, poor CR and fitment aside, I really really like the look and functionality of it.

Everyone on ClubTitan and TitanTalk seem to like the Kennesaw bumpers they have. Here are a couple of pics of them on Titans.

Very nice! Love the confederate flag hitch plug in the third photo! haha

Interesting that Titan's forums praise them and ClubFrontier pretty much rips them apart for poor fitment and customer service...

Again, I'm choosing to ignore those comments and give them a shot, hoping they prove their poor Frontier rep wrong.

We shall see!

thanks for the pics...Titans look HUGE compared to Frontiers :Wow1:

teotwaki

Excelsior!
Some pics:

On the shovel it will take way too long to get the u-bolts off . Order up some "Quick-Fist" clamps at Sierra Expeditions. Here is how I mounted them to my roof rack.

What it contains (I substituted button-head screws and stainless washers)

How they mount to the crossbars

Finished with a shovel locked down

very cool mod teotwaki!
thanks for the post.

I've only had the shovel mounted for a week, so the setup hasn't had any field testing, BUT, the ubolt mount with nuts is purposeful in that it is a theft deterant. I'm in the city weekly and my truck sits outside often for extended periods of time, I'm hoping the ubolts with nuts is just enough to make would be thieves/bg's just move on. Also, I may cuss my current mount when the day comes that I need to use the shovel to dig out, BUT, I also don't plan on those future incidents being time sensitive.

Again, appreciate your advice and good work on your mount, but I think I'll keep it bolted up as is.

I've already considered possibly a compromise and making those nuts wing nuts but that too would probably be just too easy to spin off and walk off with my $10 Walmart Shovel!!

I did something similar to teotwaki for my shovel .

I have had a lot of stuff stolen off my truck over the past year since we use to live in a high theft area (meth). Every bit of it was locked down too.

The one thing that was not locked down (the shovel) was never stolen, lol. You really can't pawn off a cheap shovel for drug money so no one pays attention to it.

You can always just get a simple combo lock and lock it through the handle. That would be a lot quicker then those nuts..

true
Actually, when I was at the hardware store buying the ubolts I bought 4 feet of marine steel brade with the locking nuts to creat loops and a small lock.........but didn't install that because I figured it was over kill....

put it this way...I'm not losing sleep over the mounting hardware for my shovel.

No problem, just throwing things out there. I would be too lazy to unbolt it all the time just to get a shovel:). I tend to use my shovel a lot for many things.

I can't speak from personal experience, but I know quite a few people have had problems with the fit and quality of their products, and been charged for shipping both back to Kennesaw and back to them once the fixes have been made. From what I've seen they make good looking products that don't fit for a damn. So if your neighbors it’s great because you only have to carry it next door, but if you have to ship it, you may be in for a lot of UPS charges.

Clark

Mine fit fine.

Only problems are the gate-stop and hi-lift jack mounts being in the wrong places.

little update

I haven't been on here much lately due to TONS of work, but quick update is...

I sold my Maxxis Bighorns to my cousin who has an F150 after only about 1000 miles...He paid me what I paid for them so that's fine with me!

I bought Nitto Terra Grappler 295/75/16....like them a lot. The little devil on my shoulder kept saying get Mud Grapplers but I stayed strong!

Also got my 2" body lift installed...it's from AC.
I like it a lot but haven't relocated my bumpers yet...

my sliders are still in the corner of the garage...I need to find a local welder and more importantly i need to pick a day i don't need my truck...
