My 09 Tacoma build

Updated photo from my first real trail run. I also ordered a Leer 100XR, and expect to see it in another week or so. Up next, sliders and a drawer system for the bed.

Nice truck - Get sliders before its too late!!! Trust me!!! :Wow1:

The weak point of our trucks is the soft underbelly, especially in the rocks. Rocks not only eat rocker panels but they do serious damage to tranny's, T-cases, exhausts, and drivelines... even the best drivers experience serious carnage when unprotected in the rocks.

I should have sliders this week. :iagree:

I finally have a photo of the truck as it currently sits. Leer 100XR and TSB springs installed. The extra rake is pretty apparent. After the springs have had some more time to settle (in another week or so), I'll address the front suspension. Photo is from Switzerland Trail outside Boulder, CO.

How is that canopy working out for you?

It's working out well so far, thanks. It seems to be pretty rigid; it doesn't seem to have the "tupperware" consistency issue yours did. The dog really seems to enjoy riding in the back with it!

In other news, I bought a set of Slee sliders Friday, but when I went to install them Saturday morning, I discovered I was given 2 passenger side sliders and none for the driver's side! :Wow1:

I hope to get that issue fixed tomorrow; unfortunately the shop wasn't open Saturday to straighten things out for me.

Also, Weather-Tech floor liners were ordered Monday; I'm still waiting for the shell to arrive.

Did you order back seat liner from Weather-Tech? I did and they sent me a liner that doesn't fit my 09 right and I'm not the only one with this issue. The liner doesn't clear the seat tracks, so if the seat is moved back it will hit the liner and fold up. Also the liner has some molded in bumps on both sides of the center hump that are not needed. I've been told the 09 has a different floor then the 05-08, not sure until I look for myself. I'm still waiting on Weather-Tech to get back to me on this issue.

I did order the rear and it seems to fit pretty well.

I've only noticed the liner folding if the seat is slid back completely. I'm only 5'10" so I have no need to slide mine back all the way, and my wife doesn't slide hers back all of the way either. Here are a couple of photos showing how mine fits:

Thanks, same as mine. I'm over 6' so my seat is way back. I need to talked to WT before I take the next step and start cutting.

After 2 1/2 hours, no lift, no power tools, no garage, and no lighting other than the setting sun and a Black Diamond headlamp, I got my Slee Sliders installed. I'm impressed; these thing are beefy as all get out and they fit like a glove. Everything lined up perfectly and the instructions were dead on. I guess you have to pay for perfection, but after the install it sure seems worth it. Photos to come soon!

I haven't got any good shots of the Slee Sliders, but here's a decent photo with them on. Although a little more expensive than the competition, I'm still very pleased with the purchase.

Also, even though the bed has a load in it, the need for a slight lift on the front end is evident. It does sit level with my dirt bike on a hitch mount carrier though.

And another domino falls....there's always another mod you "need." :) Those Slee sliders are great - very stout!

PS - Is that picture from up near Bill Moore Lake?

Agreed on the stoutness of the Slees! :Wow1:

That's actually Buffalo Pass near Steamboat Springs.

Did you have any issue transfering the TPMS from your stock aluminum wheels into the steel wheels? I've heard this can be an issue.

I didn't transfer the sensors; I just lived with the TPMS warning indicator. Now that winter is rolling in, I've installed the stock wheels again with a set of shiny new Cooper Discoverer S/T tires. The BFG MTs were all over the place on wet pavement; I can't imagine how they'd handle packed snow or ice.

Here is an easy fix for the TPMS indicator that I did. Remove the whole cluster. Take off the plastic cover. Then simply place a piece of black electrical tap over the warning light. Takes all of ten minutes and you would not even be able to tell you have tape over it.
