You can have my TC. It blows. The excellent traction control system on the Discovery II can be traced directly to the P38a

I'm not terribly familliar with the Axles tranny's and T-cases they made, I just know stock Disco axle shafts go pop with big tires... Course so do Birfields(Read: Toyota) and Dana30/35 or AMC20's (read Jeeps: something I think the new JK is comndable for, and Mopar in general for their d44 Axle's and swap options...)so each maker has it's issues eh.

Rob, I haven't seen any direct nor even heard from other jeep guys about 2nd hand experiences with bent or broken axle cases. I've wheeled the p1$$ out of my 2008 JK Unlimited at Rausch Creek PA and Washington state, making the drive both directions and not a single problem (body damage excluded).
Obviously there have been two maybe 3 instances of a unlucky souls with the problem, but think about how many jeeps are getting churned out ... People keep spreading the same photos around and acting like this is some kind of pandemic issue with Jeeps - it's not.

I have an '02 with no center lock. That doesn't help matters. To compound the problem, it is very possible I'm a crappy off road driver. (I might be the only person on the forums to admit such, but....)curious - have you retrofitted difflock onto your DII? also, what kinds of conditions? my buddy's '03 without difflock and loaded down with an RTT, tools, etc. followed my locked-rear / locked-center JK along just fine a few months ago.
