well I got my rear sway bar off today. surprisingly easy.

I realized a scary thing though. I can't get one of the lugnuts off the left rear tire.

no way, no how. if I needed to change that tire due to a flat, I wouldn't be able to...wacky. I think I'm gonna break down and have a shop help me out with it... Hopefully the axle doesn't need a new stud.

plan B would be to forget about it, since I have the 8.25 ready to swap in. I could just go get a new set of lug nuts from pep boys/4wheelparts or whatever.

oh and going to the HAM meet and greet today was NOT good thing...haha...Saw a bunch of lifted trucks strutting their stuff. LOVED the D110's. very nice setups. made my xj seem very small.

I also finished building my XJ/XJ pack in my garage

XJ main with bushings
XJ main w/o bushings as AAL
XJ 2,3,4 leafs...
XJ 4 leaf as spacer for 1/4 of lift.

New spring-eye allthread bolts, new spring clamps. Very snazzy.

Brian, is the nut spinning in the socket or is the lug spinning with the nut or it just won't budge?

If the nut is spinning (stupid cosmetic OEM Jeep lugs - straight into the garbage with them) then go to Sears and get some of those craftsman nut/bolt extractor kits. Put the correct size over the lug, give it a couple of thoughtful smacks with a two pound maul, stick an L handle on it with the handle from your highlift slipped over and it'll come off no problem. (Bt/dt way too many times). Don't put the handle over a ratcheting wrench - it'll break.

Works great to remove locking lugs without a key too. ;)

If it just won't budge do the highlift handle over an L-handle with the regular socket.

If it's spinning, can you get at the back side of the wheel at all? Use a dremel tool to cut the lug shoulders from the backside if you don't have access to OxyAce to cut it out.

nope not spinning at all, tried a lug wrench, star lug wrench and a breaker bar with a 18mm socket. I'm afraid it might be getting a bit rounded at this point, so I stopped...

what says you?

If it is rounded get one of those "bolt outs" on it. The more you try to loosen the more the teeth grab (reverse pitch). At that point it'll come off with enough breaker bar - either it'll unthread or the stud will break. Either the way the wheel is off.

I'd say use this as an excuse to buy an impact wrench! Whoever put that lug nut on probably used an impact, so thats probably what you'll need to get it off.
