Bumper & tire carrier for FJ80?

I want to get my spare tire out of the cargo area and onto some kind of swing-out tire carrier... I've seen the KayMar tire carrier that you add onto the stock bumper, but that looks like it might be problematic in the long term. I've seen Hannah Quality, but that costs more than I want to spend.

What do you guys think is the best bang for the buck?

I have the Iron Pig Offroad rear bumper. It's a good bumper with a fairly inexpensive price tag since I got a combination price on their skidplate, bumper and swingout with free shipping http://forum.ih8mud.com/ih8mud-com-...e-shipping-ipor-80-skids-80-rear-bumpers.html . I added extras so I could easily add a second swingout. If money was not a issue I would go with luke's 4xlab rear bumper.

Terry and the guys there were great to deal with.

Looks nice. Do you think it would block the left-rear tail light with a 33.5" tire on it? Also, how much trouble is it to move the license plate?

I don't want to get the highway patrol excited.

I have 35's. Theres multiple ways to move the plate but this was the easiest. I haven't been pulled over with it and I dd it.

I have a dual swing away kaymar bumper on my Disco2 and love it. Its an entire steel bumper, not just a skin for a stock bumper, perhaps its a difference design for the FJ80.

I had a local guy build this one for me. It's very similar to the 4x4 labs design.
I think a couple of guys are going to have him build bumpers for their 80 series trucks.

Do you have access to a welding machine or a local welding/fab shop? A swing-out on bolted to the frame with the stock bumper would be the least expensive way to secure it behind the car. I estimate that I have 40 man-hours and $250 in materials and consumables in mine.

I'll take pics if you're interested in this route, but it's pretty basic. I studied the Wild Yoats and Zane examples, among others on 'mud:

Moody just got a Camping Labs rear bumper for his 80. I'm sure he will see this and post some pictures. He loves it!

4x4 labs, NOT Camping Labs......right?
Yes, 4x4 Labs...

I think it is a bit more than just 'basic', but I am very happy with it. I believe you can order just the bumper with the tire swingout. I wish I had done it a long time ago...

I don't really have any photos of it, other than these:
