My guess is it was replaced... your looking at the replacement...he then replaced the replacement with an aftermarket driveshaft to solve a lift or clearance issue, and no longer needs, or can use the replacement that you see in the picture...just spitballing tho.

I used the info in this thread to wire my system, the trigger to the solenoid comes from a keyed fuse in the fuse box. I did add a simple push button switch (and LED) off of the aux battery to power the solenoid as a self jumpstart if I kill the starting battery. Thanks for all the great info...
They are very handy, I know I have the key and feel a bit more confident my spare will stick around. I also have the cable...did I mention these are handy...
