I have a roof rack with lights too. How did you run the wires for the lights to your battery? Did you drill a hole in your roof or did you route them on the pillar down to the undercarriage?
I'm still here and I still have my suburban. I been working on her to get it back on the road. My job out of state forced me to park it and sit for over a year. Stay tuned for updates.......
Can I have some ideas on how everyone routed the wires from the lights mounted on roof racks and such to the battery. Did anyone drill holes on their roofs and route them that way? Or did you route them on the outside of the vehicle some how. Thanks.
I was wondering how you routed the wires to your battery from the roof rack lights? Did you drill a hole on your roof and route the wires that way, or did you route them on the outside of the vehicle in some way? Great build.
Thanks for the compliments. I'm going to clean it up a bit and take more pics of the interior and engine bay. I like pics of ongoing projects too. Take care.
Sorry, I won't be getting rid of my suburban. It's been a labor of love (and hate) with my suburban. I have too much money and time invested and I will probably keep it till the end. Thanks for your interest in it and good luck.
Clay,
Thanks for the advice. After reading the replies, I was really thinking about just keeping what I have due to the type of off roading that I do. Plus it will save me some money and time in the end. I will look into getting some sort of locker for the rear here real soon. I'm piecing...
That makes a lot of sense. I use my suburban mostly on that type of terrain. I still want to get some sort of locker for the rear. I like to be prepared for that unforeseen trouble on the trail. Thanks for your reply.
I don't have anything in the rear. I was going to hold off and try to find a 14 bolt full floater and get an air locker for it. I don't do any serious off roading or rock crawling. What do you suggest? Should I keep what I have and get an air locker for the rear or maybe something from the...
You are absolutely correct about the double shear preventive way of fabricating the tire carrier. I will surely incorporate that in my rear bumper build. Thanks.
Great bumper. I would of never thought of using heim joints for the hinges. Great idea!Where did you get the center latch? I would like to use that on my bumper build in the future. Thanks in advance.
Thats a great idea for the seat covers. I'll take all the ideas from anyone :sombrero:. I bought the roof rack from 4Wheel Parts. Kind of a pricey addition, but I like the way it looks and will carry a ton of stuff if need be. I was thinking about making a roof rack, but I didn't have the...
