Hey guys just started noticing that most RTTs are located at the very rear of the vehicle/roof rack. I have mine set-up right in the middle, that way the weight is distributed more evenly and also I have room in the rear of to place jerry cans on the roof rack. Just curious what are the pro/cons...
Thanks for the replies, yes my sleeping platform is completely above the wheel wells. I also heard good things about the REI 3.5 which is only 25" wide too...it doesnt matter to me how these pack/fold, as they are permenantly inflated in the back of the 4runner during the whole trip.

Well im gonna be sleeping in the car, so thinking of leaving my shovel/axe/action packer with camping equipment, jerry can, on the roof rack for the night.
I found lockstraps.com , locking tie down straps, but not quiet sure how to make these work for holding down an action packer....
Just wondering how everyone is mounting their action packers or other storage bins on their roof racks? Ratchet Straps?
Also what about securing them to the roof rack, i know even action packers have a spot for a lock, but what about someone taking the whole bin off the roof?
