    KGH's LR4 Light Build Thread

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the Voyager rack. I've read mostly negative "reviews" and comments. I'm only a couple of hours away from them so it would be very convenient to buy from them.

    Compomotive Wheels?

Thanks! Looks like it's $378 each at Lucky8. Plus shipping.

    Compomotive Wheels?

Thankfully I was wrong about the price. Apparently it's less than $2,000 for 5 rims including shipping to the US.

    Compomotive Wheels?

So if I understand correctly: the Compomotives are only available from UK? They are custom made? And £470/each? Nothing here in the US? Anyone feel like parting with theirs... :)

    LR4 Sunroof heat

I can't believe I didn't think of that. My previous LR4 didn't have sunroof, and I haven't gotten the rack on yet on the new one so it never occurred to me... Let's just say my brain was overheated and pretend I never started this thread... The mesh seems like a major design flaw though. I...

    LR4 Sunroof heat

Picked up a CPO 2012 LR4 with the three sunroofs and noticed that the sunroof covers aren't solid - the mesh is letting in quite a lot of light and heat (Florida...). Used the Google machine and owners seem to come up with all kinds of wacky hacks to solve it. Tinting the sunroof windows...

Is the V6 the best choice in 2015 RR?

Could they please offer the TD6 for the LR4? Wouldn't that make more sense?

    G with Diesel and Airbags?

No reason at all. I did notice the new dash/screen on the 2013 and with the towing receiver (need that) it sounds like another reason to wait for a 2013 lease release. Or look for an 2008 and older.

    G with Diesel and Airbags?

Except for my first Disco I (which came from a no-touch/no-try auction) I've had a solid experience buying my Rovers CPO. In SWFL especially, there are plenty of low-milage snowbird ex-leases to choose from. Although I'm incredibly attracted to the RR diesel for the MPG, I don't like the look...

    G with Diesel and Airbags?

The LR4 is the sensible choice no doubt. I've had a Disco1, II and LR4 before. A great daily driver AND overland/camping platform. BUT, as someone said; don't cloud the dream with logic and reason. The LR4 is the grown-up choice, but the G is awesome. Or dare I say: a Defender with...

    G with Diesel and Airbags?

I hear what you're saying about the gas but when the RR Diesel (according to LR) get 24 mpg combined you start to ponder. I wish I could get the G 300 CDI Diesel...no, not in the US? Starting to sounds like the Defender world... :)

    G with Diesel and Airbags?

Oh, just saw your reply Ilian. Thanks, that makes the decision a bit easier. New RR Diesel or a 2012 G550 petrol. We shall see.

    G with Diesel and Airbags?

Thanks, I'll keep researching. I'm gonna hold on to the rovers that I have for now. But at some point I have to to let them lose. I somehow have four of them. Not healthy.

    G with Diesel and Airbags?

Hi guys, I'm sneaking in here all stealth-like from Defender land... don't tell. Quick question. For daily driving with school car pool (with other people's kids) I need Airbags (bye bye Defender) but the mpg of the newer Gs scare me. Is it possible to get an older (1990s?) with both airbags...
