Alu-Cab Shadow Awning Install on a FWC Swift - Replacing the Batwing

Nice little write up. I'm waiting on my FWC, and debating which awning to go with. Looking at the Alu-Cab, it looks like there are more gaps than the Batwing, specifically over the rear FWC door and the pivot point. Is that due to the design, or the way you have it mounted?

    Shop recommendation in Massachusetts

BDR Automotive in Holliston MA is my recommendation. Brian is great, and very reputable. He and one of his other mechanics have done plenty of Toyota work. There are plenty of built trucks there, which BDR also specializes in. The website is still under construction, but you can find the...

VERMONT OVER-LAND ROVER, The Northeast Land Rover Rally, July 25-27, 2014

I keep looking at this event, and soon enough it's going to be July, with amazing Vermont weather. Interested to see all the vehicles that come out, after hiding during the terrible winter we had.

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

Iceland Airwaves I was back in Iceland a few weeks ago, for the 2nd trip of this year. This time it wasn't as much solo adventuring, but I was there with a friend for Iceland Airwaves. An incredible music festival that shouldn't be missed if you love music, with all ranges of genres. While out...

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

Thanks! ISAK was great to deal with, I had no issues with them, and would gladly go through them again. Very easy going and all. Things I would keep in mind with some of these places, are you doing a trip on your own or do you want a guided service? There are a lot of guided services in Iceland...

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

Thanks! It sure can be, but of course knowing your limitations and just being aware of your surroundings. It's not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

Thanks! It can be tough at times, where you're trying to capture the moment while also keeping entertainment factors up. I had plenty of other video of driving around places, but had to do my best of keeping the fun within the video. It sure can be tough, and I appreciate the comments!

The ExPo Mountain Bike Photo Thread

I know this is more of a photo thread, but when I lived back in California I would ride at least weekly by the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) which is a NASA facility. Great single track with a big climb to start the trail, and awesome downhill to finish up. Even came across the infamous mountain lion...

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

Driving a world rally blue '12 WRX Limited hatch, which is soon going to stage 1 tuning and possibly more eventually. Running a Nameless Performance muffler delete exhaust, Rally Armor flaps, strut bar, snows for winter, etc. The other photo won't load right now since it's too large.

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

I was wishing that I could have gone with a 90 instead, but the 110 wasn't bad :p . I didn't need the 110 size for myself, but it did work out in the blizzard high wind situations nicely. I've owned a Range Rover Classic and a Discover I previously, and the 110 fit both in it's unique ways...

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

Thanks everyone. So basically the main reason for going on the trip, other than visiting my favorite country of all time again, was to experience the aurora borealis (the northern lights). Of course with my luck, I didn't succeed, but took every opportunity to enjoy the trip over and beyond...

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

I'll be sure to post more information about the trip, but wasn't fairly straight forward planning. Just went with my intuitions, and went mostly by paper map along with GPS on places I wanted to see and experience. Will be glad to share any more details people would like to hear about. I'm...

    Iceland Adventuring - Solo Overlanding

Came back from Iceland not long ago (a month ago almost), and did a overland type specific trip to see the countryside in the dead of winter. Was out in a Land Rover D110 solo, of course not pushing it to the extreme by myself, but nonetheless getting breath taking views and was able to venture...
