JDM Mitsubishi Delica JB500 camper body on L300 truck chassis build

That is so cool, I learnt to drive in an 83 4wd L300 van. The old body style, this shape, 4wds were ladder frame for both the vans and trucks. We had 31" tyres on ours and found we had to trim the front wheel arch behind the tyre for clearence. The hot ticket back in the day was a 2" body...

I've left the Toyota Fold, AKA my Montero Build Thread

Chrome exteriror handles were factory fitted on some models, iirc from 1994/95 on the top spec Exceed here in Australia. Our old base spec, rubber floor, part time 4wd with manual hubs and rear leaf suspension, had a reclining back seat, 2 rows only.

    chrysler voyager doing dumb stuff.

Oh god those photos of the voyager are funny, not that I can talk since I did a similar thing with my old '03 Grand Voyager! Ended up running stock sized Yoko Geolander H/T-S, had plans on trading it for an AWD version but mine decided to start puking things so I traded it for a Rav.

    My latest mitsu build-up...

I might have missed something, doesn't your monty have superselect? If so why are you installing free wheeling hubs, AU spec Pajeros with superselect ran solid front hubs, no free wheeling hubs. Dad had the manual hubs on his '94 Turbo diesel base Pajero and had one grenade it's self.

    Gen. I plans...

The 2.6 is a bullet proof performer, as a former Mitsubishi mechanic personally I'd take the 2.6 over the 3.0 if power wasn't a big concern, and convert the 2.6 to either EFI or straight LPG since both are easy here in Australia. Either way, get the best truck you can afford and keep ontop of...

Triton may be built in Illinois

I think this would be a good move for Mitsubishi in North America. The L200/Triton is a very good truck, I'm actually getting one in the next year or so. Just need to get rid of my Chrysler minivan first.

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Yep. 2nd gen Pajero. As for the story, looks like an Australian registration label on the bottom LH corner of the windscreen. Can't pick exactly where it is, hazard a guess Fraser Island since this scene is VERY common there. People buy 4wds and think they will go anywhere. Drive along soft...

If they brought the Jimny over to the states, would you pick one up?

God, I nearly got one of the first off the boat in Australia 12 years ago! Was about to sign a purchase contract when the dealer actually ROLLED what was going to be MY truck. After that I got cold feet and am still kicking my self 12 years later. I had already started looking into mods for...

    Safari snorkel - upkeep

The only thing we used to do when we had a Pajero with a Safari snorkel was wash it and retension the mounting hardware, found a couple of loose bolts a couple of times.

    off road lights

I'm a firm beliver in getting the best lights I can afford, and if I can't afford the best to keep saving until I can! I used to have a pair of Cibie Oscar SC in spead(cornering) and pencil beam, well not really pencil as such just long rang, and found them to be superb lights. To the point...

    Any Hummer people here?

I picked up a copy of 4WD Action the other week and it had the new feature on the truck. Funny thing was as I was reading it, on my lunch break while on the road, a blinged out H3 owned by a known local scumbag came screaming into the carpark. Sort of ruins the image of the H3 abit. Nice...

    Help wiring light bar...

I beg to differ. You should ALWAYS use seperate fuses and relalys for additional lights. That way if you damage one of them, or have a short for some reason, you don't loose all your lights. Personally I would run a fused relay to the lights with one switch drawing from the highbeam circuit...
