Yeah, my favorite upgrade from ROA ... the beefy stabilizers :
and popped the top down .. for lower profile/less noise...
unhitched...
it was a wild night!
:)
So if anyone is curious as to how a Dweller holds up in strong wind.... last night out here in Owens Valley, we had some serious fun ... no sleep at all ... thought my trailer was about to take off 'Wizard of Oz' style ... but thankfully no ... Next morning spotted some evidence ... the huge...
ok well after several hours of heating up the trailer with a buddy heater... they sprang back to life... and are charging again ... phew!
Seems like I need to devise a system to keep that battery compartment warm on the cold nights.... any ideas?
So last night we had a snow storm .. and temps dipped. This morning I see that my lithium batteries are dead (they were at 50% capacity the night before). So the trailer is stone cold .. can't even run the Truma. Tried running the litime charger to bring them back to life but that flashes red...
it's actually possible to run them down so low that they start beeping and there's not even enough volts for the renogy inverter/charger to come on, so for these situations, I have the litime 14.6v 20a charger permanently attached to the first battery, so i can quickly plug that into my propane...
No - the batteries are not 'shut down' so to speak .. (and it's not that cold where I am currently) ... as the bluetooth/bms is active on all three and I can switch the app to see what's going on in each one ... also I have victron smart shunts on each battery and can see that only one out of...
E 80 H
So today my Truma heater has started cutting out. My 300 Ah Lithium batteries are fully charged and sitting happily between 13-14V
I hear the fan come on .. revs up high ... then 'click' .. and OFF... everything dead... and message 'E 80 H'
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm new to trailer towing ... .. my tow vehicle is a Land Rover ... never chained it up ever in snow/ice... driven all over Tahoe in it for years... but having the D13 out back .. is new to me ... feels different .. and nervous about the mtn pass downslopes...
yeah I think i'll do that ... scoped out kingsbury grade the other day and it looked as if it could be quite challenging going east in snowy/icy conditions ... but I do still need to get some chains ... to carry just in case ... I suppose any old 16 inch chains will do..
