Today I moved from collecting parts and steel to the 'build it phase'.
I purchased a used HF style trailer by after peeling the old 3/4" PT plywood deck and checking out the quality build I have since decided to keep it as a utility trailer and build myself a good EXPO platform.
Looking nice. Are you concerned about the pivot bending? Looks like that's a different style than I used.
I do like the bedside protection!! Looks clean.

Looking really good! It always has amazed me how much steel can move around when heated! I'm always fighting heat while welding.
I like where you are heading as far as rear clearance goes. The spindle for my swing out is 4" tall on the base. So that's my limiting factor.

If you are trying to stop heat. Try sewing a sheet of space blanket into the middle of the two layers is a good method. It's how some people make curtains in Maine to keep the cold out in winter.
