Price lowered to $22k if I can get this sold by 5/1. 2020 Four Wheel Camper Hawk Shell. Located near Big Bear, Running Springs, CA 92382 Other than some minor cosmetic dings, it's in excellent shape. We used it more as a mobile office than actual camping/offroading. Equipped from the Factory...

WTB: FWC Project M for Full Size truck, 6.5ft bed

Silly me, I traded my Phoenix Pop-up Camper for a Campteq on my 80 series but find myself really needing the extra space of my full size truck (2 people and 4 cats - yes, 4 cats). I'm sitting here, contemplating just adding the Topper EZ lift to my Leer shell + mattress and call it a day, but I...

    Tailgate On or Off?

Tailgate on for us too. We love the "porch". Leave our dirty shoes on it or use it as a table at camp. To help egress and ingress, we purchased an AMP Research BedStep. Wife is 5' and I'm 6' and haven't had any issues. Personally, I also think it looks a lot cleaner to have a closing gate.

    Tailgate Storage Lid on eBay

I have the WagonGear (Which, in my opinion, "inspired" the metal version by the other guys). The plastic wagongear lid has a grip option. Great when you're in the wet and are using your gate as a step. Mine has taken years of abuse and still looks and works great. My only issue is the "trim"...

My Taco Phoenix Pop Up Camper

I've had a great time with mine. Not say it hasn't had some minor issues. Been meaning to post a 3year review. I'll get to it sometime!

    Life in a pop-up for 3+ people

We have a Phoenix Camper with a king bed. The highest capacity we've camped is with 4 adults and one 5yo. with a potty outside in a privy tent. 2 parents and an the kid in the king bunk, me and my wife on the foldout sofa (no dinette). Lots of gear moving and shuffling around to get access to...

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

Are you looking to charge or simply keep the starter batter topped-off? I upgraded my solar controller to a Bluesky 3000i. It has a 2Amp aux battery output that triggers when it determines that the camper battery doesn't need all the solar. On occasion, I would have starting issues after my...

Looking for popup that would fit Tacoma

If you're looking for something with unique features and customizable, Phoenix is your only option. Phoenix doesn't have the time or resources to R&D each custom build, so that can lead to some issues. I shopped for my camper knowing I would be building from it and improving it. I saw flaws in...

    Toilet option in pop-up camper?

Ramblinman, I buy old stock in bulk on eBay. You'll run into the really good deals once in a while. Right now, there's a box of 100 "blue bags" selling for $141 shipped. Try to avoid the "green bags" as that stock is about 7 years old. The zip-locks usually don't work on the really old stock...

    Heating an Eagle

Yeah, the sides do stiffen up at those temps. 12v Bunk warmer or heating pad. Popular with the Semi drivers. It's only a twin size but it works great to warm most of our king-sized bunk (Feet and head areas remain a little cold). I'm thinking of adding another one so we have a "his and her...

    Heating an Eagle

I use a combination of the Wave 3 heater and a 12v bunk warmer to winter camp. The issues I have with the Wave 3 is it's directional heat and that it has some difficulties over 10k feet. It takes the edge off in the camper, but it's still much colder in the bunk area. The bunk warmer really...

    Toilet option in pop-up camper?

2nd on the PETT. I've even discarded the "cover" for a few more inches of space. One bag can take multiple er, "number 1s" if you carry a tub of extra powder. I usually buy the Wag Bags in bulk, costing about $1 a bag. But because they are biodegradable, the zip-locks tend to come apart as it...

    Four Wheel Camper Considerations

We're currently in a 2012 DC Tundra 6.5bed with a custom built competitor's pop-up (similar in size to the Hawk) - a few inches shorter lengthwise to retain a closing tailgate. A few inches wider to accommodate a king size bunk. Instead of a dinette, we went with a converting bench with extra...
