I know what I need. Which is mostly fuel millage and the station wagon back as its big enough to sleep in. Im pretty much ultra light except for that requirement. I drove a buddyd Sudbury legacy (1998 I think) a few years ago and even thought I'm 6"2 it was comfortable and enjoyable to drive. I...
I'm looking to build a expedition vehicle. I'm seriously thinking about a 09 Subaru outback, but before I go that path what would be a great second choice in a comparable station wagon (I know Ford made one but not who else).
Thank you for any info.
Yep it's a 1990 bronco.
I'm still on the fence, thinking of building the Jimmy with small lift but building the bronco for more off road travel.
Too many projects...so little money.
I've got a 10 foot fiberglass bolar trailer that really has no ground clearance for the offroad trails I go follow when I go camping(it can't weight more than 750-1000 lbs).and many of my camping friends have moved over 1000 km away.
I'm going to a friend's house for a few weeks in the summer...
Primarily because diesel will be free on the farm I will be on. Yep that's right if I have a diesel the fuel(within reasonable amounts) will be free fir my personal vehicle.
Kind of hard to beat..
But I still don't want a big diesel guzzler...

Get a spare computer if it is prone to failure..
A Carb will run even if set up all wrong, but at the price of fuel who can afford a badly set up carb. if you don't know how to set it up don't feel bad, most new mechanics don't know either. tbi will run right and should be...
To be honest I am thinking of moving from the mountains to the prairies, and with such a move I am thinking of starting over for my personal vehicle. I have a 98 blazer, bronco 2, and a 95 suburban all in various states of reliability and usability.
Going to the prairies I am thinking I want a...

I agree. Even though I have had a few trips in a suburban and do like the space and security, I love traveling with my motorcycle. I hope to do a few trips this year on a bicycle.
I look forward to the challenge of reducing my gear and finding new gear that is more multi purpose.

I do love the Jimmy and s10 platform. I have had 5 over the years. I have owned only one ranger based vehicle before but never took it off road.
I like the suspension on the bronco 2 over the ifs on the s10. Or I'm maybe it's the newness that interests me.
The Jimmy is definitely better on...
I have one of each.both need work, but then I always do unnecessary work to everything I buy. Which would you build up as a base expedition vehicle for north American adventure....?

After 11 years on a klr all my bike buddies have moved over 10 hours away. I am looking at a dl 1000 in the new year.but the klr goes into storage because it is just too good locally to get rid of...and I have regretted selling every bike I have sold over the years.
