    fuso 4x4 rebuild

It's an inline pump similar to yours but has an electronic actuator on the front of it that alters timing. TICS is the acronym. I have it set at about 10 BTDC at operating speeds.

    fuso 4x4 rebuild

Alan, do you have any specs for injection timing for this engine? Mine has a later pump with electronic timing control and I have been timing it with a pulse adapter, would be nice to know what it's set at for other machines.

That's brilliant Alan, thank you. I do have a list of part numbers. The only concern is that the head gasket appears to come in three thicknesses (A, B and C) and I won't know until I pull the head. I guess I can split the difference and order a "B".

    fuso 4x4 rebuild

Alan where did you source the engine rebuild parts (pistons etc)? Any recommendations to pass on? It looks like I am buying from Oz regardless for my 4D34 (unless I buy from Mitsubishi). I know the cam in mine was good when I changed the bottom end bearings, but I suspect I have a ring issue on...

    Max Torque & HP 4D34-T

It's a universal T3 adjustable wastegate actuator sourced from Ebay with a homemade bracket, the wastegate itself is in the turbo and still stock. I don't have a pyro since the fueling is still all stock. One thing to remember is there is a pop off valve in the intake on the 4D3s that pops at...

Good info on 4D34 99 Fuso engine

Hey that's me :sombrero: I learned a lot doing the swap, that's for sure!

    Freshening 4D34T engine

Hello lads, I have a 4D34T engine swapped into my 80 series Land Cruiser. The thing is a bloody tank and I am amazed at how much grunt the engine has, but it has always had a lot of blow-by (the road draft tube smokes quite a bit) and the compression on the 4th cylinder is slow to build. For...

    Yet another 109 build Thread

Great, thanks. My old truck was sprung over and it made a huge difference but I think I will try this setup with military spring hangers - like a 1 tonne but with longer springs.

Hey, How's the front suspension working out? Are you happy with the sprung under 88 inch springs? Do you have a Series to compare to and is the approach angle still OK? Great truck! JL

Is the design of the 3.9/4.0/4.2/4.6 inherently bad?

Have you replaced your bottom end bearings yet? :sombrero:

Is the design of the 3.9/4.0/4.2/4.6 inherently bad?

"The wings are not on fire!" :sombrero: Do you include vaseline as a basic hand tool? Because you'll need it to prime the oil pump. And I guess you'd need a fancy allen head socket since that's what holds the starter on, and you'd need to pull it to get to the oil pan and bearing cap bolts...

Is the design of the 3.9/4.0/4.2/4.6 inherently bad?

... And someone who sees the original 3.5L 2 bolt main carburetted rover V8 with a distributor as the same design as 4.6 Bosch cross-bolted distributorless EFI engine hasn't? For the record, I agree that the original 3.5 was a solid engine for its time but this thread is for the design of...

So I guess what you are saying is that the Rover V8 is a bad design, but real enthusiasts put up with it?

Edit - That would Rover V8 ownership... Plenty of other reliable options :sombrero:
