I agree my limit is in the 20 to 30k range. I’ll only be using it a few times a year and cant justify $60k or something of that nature. Setting up a cargo trailer myself has crossed my mind. Im definitely not opposed to it i just hoped i could find a company that built what im after already.
I have been looking all over online and just not seeing what I really want. I spent most of my time "Camping" on the mountain in the fall. I hunt and it can get pretty cold. The camper I have right now does ok but I need a toy hauler. Most of the commercial trailers I have seen are much fancier...
I did forget something I was going to ask. i was wondering if there would be any possible issues with hooking my generator up to the AC plug on the camper to run TV or what ever and running the batteries with the DLS-55. Running 2 12 volt chargers per say. Should I see if I can turn off the 12...
Thanks for pointing out the negative wire issue. I had no clue about that. You have been quite a bit of help for me doing this. Very much appreciated. I will look into those caps too. I leave tomorrow morning to head up on the mountain. Will be up about 9k ft for a week. I go to hunt but to be...
This is my Temporary install until I order the Solar Panels next summer. I had an old diamond plate took box I can lock up. This way I can back the small trailer this is all mounted on up to the camper and plug it all in. I made it all so I can charge all 4 batteries at once or remove 2 jumpers...
Honestly I just want some sort of connection. Evenings on the mountain during hunting season are kinda boring. Especially when its snowing and cold. In the past we go to the Lodge and hook up to their WiFi to check messages and what not but it isn't always working very well.
I have done some searching online for some sort of mobile Internet I can use while hunting and camping. I rarely have Cell service. Any suggestions that wont require mortgaging the house?
Works for me. I actually have a temporary set up in mind till I get my Solar panels and take a chance of having to redo anything. I was planning to set everything up in a Plastic Tote and external quick connects out in front of the camper where the original battery boxes are. So I could move the...
That sounds like a good idea to me. I was kinda worried there for a minute. The thought of ruining those batteries had me spooked. I have had them for 4 months and been researching everything I could before messing with them hoping I wasn't going to hurt them.
One last question is should I...
If it is something I dont have to do very often then can I do the Iota charger for normal operation and then find a less expensive way to EQ the batteries on occasion? If thats even possible.
I'm starting to think maybe I over did things. Originally all I wanted was to be able to run my furnace all night. I had no idea I was looking at another $1k to even start to get this to work. I head up on the mountain the 15th of next month. Looks like Ill have to wing it with the 2 12v...
After reading through dwh's and Joe917's posts I'm confused a little. dwh you said the Iota DLS-55 would work. Joe said I need a charger that can equalize the batteries occasionally. Will the Iota charger do that?
At this time I cant afford the Magnum Charger. Possibly next year when I can buy the Solar panels. I'm really thinking I should have only bought 2 of the Crown batteries to begin with. I actually got the Batteries for free so to speak. My ex brother inlaw lives with me and I got him to buy them...
