Anyone extended the transmission or transfer case beathers a Tacoma? (First gen/auto)

You can get to the t-case breather from the bottom its located on the drivers side right behind the shift linkage and it's on top hiding behind some wires. Pic below shows it and where its located. I am not sure about the transmission it's on top somewhere up there.... They are both fairly...

Safe/smart to bolt roof tray/basket to 1 Gen Tacoma can roof?

Gotcha I didn't think about that one. Do you have 4Runners in Cambodia? I have found where someone retrofitted a 4runner roof rack on a 1st gen Taco this looks like it would support more weight than the factory roof rack on my 1st gen...

Safe/smart to bolt roof tray/basket to 1 Gen Tacoma can roof?

I think this is going to be a tuff one since the 1st gen Tacos don't have gutters on the roof. Have you thought about a bed rack that extends over the cab like some utility racks do? You could even build it so it has a couple of pads that rest on the roof for some extra support as well.

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

I have zero concerns about these bumpers they are beefy and well designed. I was in the same boat I didn't want a ton of weight added to the truck so I went this route and I am glad I did. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

They are from Hefty Fab you can get them in either aluminum or steel. I opted for aluminum the front weighs around 60lbs I cannot remember what the dual swing out rear weighs but its not a lot.

Any of you running 235/85/16 tires?

I run 235/85/16's Hankook Dynapro MT's on my 1st gen taco and love them. Another good choice would be the Cooper ST/MAXX in that size, less road noise than the Hankook's and still more aggressive than the KO's.

Offroad in a New 2016 Taco

Gotta wonder how much of that has to do with CVT transmissions?

    Need some advice.

Sorry I would not pay 37K for that truck! Did the price on trails go up that much? I could have bought a new trail in 2014 for 35K and some change but I knew what I was going to do with mine so it wasn't worth it for me. What size wheels are those 18 or 19"? first thing I would do is rid...

    The Starting Point!

Another update and a few more upgrades. After deciding not to go forward on another auto related project it was time to get some bumpers on this rig. After lots of looking I decided on a set of Hefty fab bumpers with rear having dual swing outs. Since I live on the coast and have watched...

lightweight 16x7 alloys for a tacoma

They are Hankook MT's they are a bit noisy and don't have any siping which is something to consider for up North.
